It’s a bit of an obsession at the moment. I’ve gone from being a serial Netflixer to podcast binger. If you’re a busy mum, you may be thinking, when on earth do you have time to listen to podcasts? Well it’s incredible what you can fit in, especially if you can be busy doing something else that you don’t need to give much attention to at the same time. My favourite times for podcast listening are in the car, while I am cooking, and in the evening whilst having a stretch.
So anyway, quite a few people have been asking me for podcasts that I recommend, as it can be overwhelming at first to know what is worth listening to and where to start. So I thought I’d share some of my go-to favourites, that are all related to wellbeing in some way.
1.FEEL BETTER LIVE MORE WITH RANGAN CHATTERJEE
It has become the Number 1 health podcast in the UK & Europe. “Health has become overcomplicated. I aim to simplify it” says Dr Chatterjee, one of the most influential GPs in the country. In his podcast he is joined by leading health experts and well-known personalities, offering easy health life-hacks, expert advice and the tools to revolutionise how you eat, sleep, move and relax. Rangan believes that when we are healthier we are happier because when we feel better we live more.
2. SELF CARE CLUB
Listening to Lauren Mishcon and Nicole Goodman is like having a natter with your girlfriends. They help to demystify all the self-care advice that’s out there today. The style is part reality, part experiment, testing out the latest self-care tool, so you don’t have to. A lighthearted listen that is funny and packed full of insight.
3. HAPPY PLACE
In this chart-topping podcast, Fearne Cotton is joined by an impressive line-up of guests discussing life, love and loss in a bid to help listeners find their own happy place. She doesn’t claim to be a wellness expert, but she is a master at creating insightful, authentic and interesting conversations that leave you wanting more.
4. BODY STUFF WITH DR. JEN GUNTER
Should I do a juice cleanse? Do I really need 8 glasses of water a day? Is it actually possible to “boost” my immune system? We are constantly bombarded with news stories, ads, and social media posts telling us how to optimise our health. Dr. Jen Gunter is here to bust the lies, debunking some of the stickiest myths out there while helping to understand how the body really works.
5. THE RACHEL HOLLIS PODCAST
I first became a member of the Rachel Hollis fan club after reading her best-selling book ‘Girl, Stop Apologizing.’ This is the perfect listen if you’re looking for more joy and purpose in your life. It features candid interviews with top performers in business, media, and lifestyle, as well as deep dives into topics like health and motivation.
So there you have it, my top 5 podcasts to be listening to right now! If you’re new to podcasting or in need of some fresh inspiration, I highly recommend putting one of these on the next time you’ve got a long car journey, or you need some company whilst doing the laundry 🙂
